The all-new Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine, the world’s first seven passenger plug-in hybrid SUV, has been named Green Car Journal’s 2016 Luxury Green Car of the Year. The XC90 T8 offers a combined 400 horsepower by way of a two-liter turbocharged and supercharged gas engine in front and an electric motor at the rear. Together, they deliver an EPA-rated 53 MPGe, making the all-wheel-drive XC90 T8 the world’s most powerful and efficient SUV.
 

It was recently announced that Volvo Cars’ XC90 won the prestigious North American Truck of the Year 2016 Award for a second time! The competition was fierce and there was a list of strong contenders.The first time XC90 won the award was back in 2003.

Editors on the panel of judges called it the new benchmark for high-output 4-cyl engines and praised it for delivering the “refined output, power and composure of a high-feature 6-cylinder engine”. This is the second time Volvo has won the recognition from WardsAuto for its efficient, performance delivering, Drive-E engine family.
